Rihanna’s Beauty Line Named One Of 2017’s Top Inventions By TIME Magazine

Inventing something isn't one of the easiest feats and that's why inventors are regarded high in our society. One of the few great inventors is Rihanna. We can confidently say so after TIME listed the singer's beauty line, Fenty Beauty, among the top 25 inventions of 2017. One of the reasons why Fenty Beauty has earned that spot is because the line managed to create different shades for different skin tones, something many companies haven't been able to do, more specifically because most of them sideline women of color.
That's how surprising it was for her, more specifically because her line hasn't been around for long.
"I never could have anticipated the emotional connection that women are having with the products and the brand as a whole," she continued. "Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That's something I will never get over."
So, what really inspired Rihanna to come up with her beauty line? According to the singer, she experimented with different top brands for many years but still felt there was something a miss; there were no industry brands that would serve everyone across all skin types and tones. That's why she decided to create a makeup line that would ensure all women from all walks of life would feel included.
"I've had my makeup done thousands of time, and when it comes to foundation, you just never know how it's going to turn out. I think foundation should look like great skin, so it was important to me that the Pro Filt'r foundation had a soft matte finish because you want a dewy look, but never shiny! It was also important that every woman felt included in this brand. We are all so different, with our own unique skin tones, so we started with the 40 foundation shades out the gate," she said.
