NBA Update - Sixers' Ben Simmons tops Sporting News Australia's 'SN50' list



Aussie phenom Ben Simmons added another prestigious award to his collection on Tuesday. The 21-year-old NBA star was ranked the number one athlete in Sporting News Australia's "SN50" list. The list in its' inaugural year ranked the 50 best Australian athletes 21 years old and under.

Simmons who's competing in his first NBA campaign grabbed the number one spot ahead of some of Australia's brightest young talents including Rugby League star Tom Trbojevic (21), Tennis sensation Ash Barty (21) and Olympic Swimmer Mack Horton (21).

Simmons is averaging 18 points, 9.2 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Milwaukee Bucks center Thon Maker (20), who will once again be eligible for the list next year, finished ranked in the 10th spot overall.
